Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Challenger Bill White Have a Hair-off with Cow WowLiquid Compost Maker Asks Public to Vote for Candidate with Best “Hair” In Its “Heads of State” Campaign
Austin, TX (9.17.10) – While Texas gubernatorial candidates Rick Perry and Bill White sling mud at each other from their respective campaign headquarters, a small Georgetown, Texas company, Cow Wow, decided to unite the two politicians – and mount them on the back of a 16-foot trailer. Cow Wow, a liquid compost product, is launching a “Moovement,” called the “Heads of State” campaign, featuring six-foot terra cotta busts of Rick Perry and Bill White, with hair of flowering ivy. The public is invited to text or vote online for the candidate with the better “hair.” The Moovement’s tour launch, which will include a special appearance from singer, former gubernatorial candidate, musician and writer, Kinky Friedman, is slated for noon Monday, September 20, in Austin at the South Congress Food Trailer Court at 1603 South Congress. Kinky, using extra large hedge clippers, will give the candidates an inaugural trim. People are encouraged to visit www.votecowwow.com to vote for the best head or text their votes to: Like Rick’s hair? Text RICK to 512-523-5817 or Like Bill’s hair? Text BILL to 512-943-6167. The website will be updated regularly leading up to the early November election day to show polling results. The hair – a lot on the top for Perry, a little more on the sides for White – has been treated with Cow Wow, a product that efficiently reuses the waste product from dairy farms, saving water and landfill space and creating an all-natural compost that feeds soil and encourages plant growth. The campaign and tour was created and developed by indie agency Door Number 3 (www.dn3austin.com), which creates marketing programs that don’t just cause consumer reaction, but instead, influences behavior. The heads were fabricated by Blue Genie Art (www.bluegenieart.com). Both companies are located in Austin, Texas. |
